Govt Announces To Slash Petrol Price By Rs10 Per Litre
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday announced to slash the price of petrol by Rs10 per litre and diesel by Rs7.5 per litre.

"The prime minister wants to provide maximum relief to the people and we have been implementing this policy since October 30," the minister said in a televised address.

"As per our calculations, petrol prices will be reduced by Rs10 to Rs214.8 at midnight. High-speed diesel will be be available for Rs227.80 after a Rs7.5 cut," he added.

The minister further said that kerosene oil will now be available for Rs171.38 after a Rs10 decrease. The price of light diesel oil will now be Rs169 after a decrease by the same price.

The change will come into effect at 12am tonight (December 15).

The prices of all petroleum products were previously kept unchanged on Oct 15, Oct 30, and Nov 15.

On Nov 30, the prices of kerosene oil and light diesel oil were decreased by Rs10 per litre and Rs7.5 per litre, respectively.
