Star reporter Azaz Syed said on Wednesday that word on the street had it that PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari had successfully put an end to the feud brewing between PML-Q cousins Chaudhry Shujaat and Pervaiz Elahi.
He made the comments in flagship Naya Daur show Khabar Say Aagay. The journalist said separate reports of the Punjab setup being revamped before former prime minister Nawaz Sharif were also gaining traction.
Syed said the mother of slain journalist Arshad Sharif had every right to nominate whoever she deemed fit in an FIR of his killing. The law too, he said, was clear on this account. The mother of the deceased, however, did not present any such demand before the fact-finding committee constituted to look into the journalist’s killing.
Naming the high and mighty, Syed said, compromised probes. The trend, he said, can be seen in wake of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto’s 2007 Rawalpindi assassination.
