Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Moonis Elahi and journalist Imran Riaz are once again feuding on Twitter, just a few days after their last online spat.

The feud began when Moonis Elahi tweeted on Wednesday that he had heard the ‘somebody’s’ visa got cancelled due to ‘strong links with criminal elements’. Elahi said this person —who he refrained from naming— had to come back from the airport.

Merely ten minutes later, journalist Imran Riaz replied to his tweet and said, “Name names Moonis Elahi sahab, yes my visa has been cancelled, and yes you should develop the courage to name the people who were behind the cancellation of my visa.” He added that he was ‘happy to stay in Pakistan’.

نام لو نا مونس الہی صاحب میرا ویزا کینسل ہوا ہے اور ہاں جن کی وجہ سے ہوا ہے ان کا نام لینے کی بھی جرات پیدا کرو۔

Then Moonis Elahi shot back at Imran Riaz and said, “Imran sahab it wasn’t meant for you,” adding that this was a classic example of ‘a flying arrow in the air’ or a shot in the dark.

Imran Riaz responded and said, “I even know who informed you about the visa cancellation,” adding with a laughing emoji, “Now keep watching Mr. deputy chief minister.”

Last week the two had a spat where Elahi alluded that Imran Riaz was seeking a party ticket from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Riaz —who many consider to be a pro-PTI journalist— in turn hinted that Elahi had also been gifted expensive luxury watches.

The initial feud came after Moonis Elahi had given an interview in which he had said that at the time of the vote of no-confidence, the PML-Q had sided with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at the instruction of former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa.
