Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said on Saturday that he had hoped the next military leadership would have immediately "disassociated" from former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa's "fascist" anti-PTI actions as he demanded the immediate release of "heart patient" Senator Azam Swati.
In a tweet demanding the immediate release of Swati, the PTI supremo went on to add that the governing coalition was viewed as a "puppet government". The entire nation, he said in the first of two tweets, was shocked to see the "vindictive cruelty" Swati had been subjected to. Pakistan, he said, and the military in particular had come to command an increasingly negative perception the world over.
"The entire nation is shocked at the vindictive cruelty Senator Azam Swati is being subjected to & for what crime? For intemperate language & asking questions which is the right of anyone in a democracy? Internationally Pak & esp our mly is being perceived increasingly negatively bec the present Imported govt is seen as a mere puppet govt.
