An intoxicated passenger on a Turkish Airlines flight bound for Thailand ‘compelled’ an emergency landing at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

The man, who boarded the Thailand-bound flight from Istanbul, was reported to have started behaving inappropriately after getting drunk. The pilot of the aircraft then elected to land in the Pakistani metropolis after receiving the required clearance. The passenger was offloaded after Pakistani authorities said the individual will be deported to Türkiye on the next flight.

Such incidents are by no means unprecedented. Dubai authorities deported a Pakistani man for behaving erratically onboard a flight from Peshawar earlier in September. Footage showed him giving the call to prayer onboard and proceeding to lie down in the aisle.
