Imran Khan's 'Favourite' General Faiz Set For Early Retirement
Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed has reportedly elected to retire early.

General Faiz is currently serving as the Bahawalpur Corps Commander. Citing sources, journalist Ansar Abbasi said the Bahwalpur corps commander will do so in writing come Monday.

General Faiz was one of six being considered for the now-filled top military posts of army chief and chairman joint chiefs of staff committee.

General Faiz is popularly believed to be Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan's 'blue-eyed boy'. He has served as DG ISI earlier. Captain Safdar, the son-in-law of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, told pressmen earlier in October that he will have to answer for the Panama Papers case against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo.
