Son Of Former Bureaucrat Flees To Sweden After Suspected Killing Of Cop In Karachi
The son of a former deputy commissioner, who had been suspected of killing a policeman in Karachi late on Monday night, has reportedly fled to Sweden using his Swedish passport.

The Karachi police has reportedly sought the assistance of International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) to track down Khurram Nisar, the son of a former bureaucrat, who allegedly shot down a police officer named Abdur Rehman late night on Monday.

In a news report by Geo News, DIG South Irfan Baloch was quoted as saying that a legal process has been initiated to arrest Khurram Nisar, who supposedly fled to Sweden, as he holds a Swedish nationality as well.

"We are writing to the director general of passports for seizing his passport and we are also approaching the FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) for contacting Interpol," Geo News quoted him as saying.

Nisar supposedly took an international flight to Sweden via Istanbul, and used his Swedish passport to flee in order to avoid detection. According to the police, his parents have reportedly 'disowned him', and have given a statement distancing themselves from him.

"Nisar comes to Pakistan once a year. We have no idea what he does when he comes to Pakistan. We cannot take any responsibility for his actions," the parents reportedly told investigators.

The suspected shooter is to be charged with terrorism, murder, and shootout with police.

Surveillance footage from the night of the event shows a black car parked in a street in a residential area in Karachi’s DHA. Khurram Nisar and Abdur Rehman, both armed, got out of the car, and appeared to have a heated exchange, after which Nisar shot Abdur Rehman and drove off.

South SSP Syed Asad Raza said that Abdur Rehman and a second policeman had been conducting a routine patrol on their motorbike in Clifton, where they had seen the suspect allegedly force a woman to get into his car as she screamed.
