Lakki Marwat Terror Attack Kills Six Police Personnel
Six police personnel were martyred in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after their mobile police unit came under attack by terrorists on Wednesday morning.

According to state-run Radio Pakistan, on Wednesday, four police constables, an assistant sub-inspector and the driver were killed after coming under gunfire from terrorists. The attack has been described as a terror attack.

The police unit came under attack during a routine patrol in the area. The dead bodies have been shifted to a nearby hospital, and a search operation has been initiated in the area.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in a statement said that the incident was a very unfortunate one. "We will not let the sacrifice of the martyred go in vain," he said, extending his condolences to the families of the deceased.

In separate statements, President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have also strongly condemned the attack in Lakki Marwat.

President Arif Alvi said such cowardly acts cannot shake the nation's resolve against the menace of terrorism, while the Prime Minister asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to immediately announce Shuhada package for the martyred police personnel. Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah sought a report from the Chief Secretary and IG of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regarding the particulars of the incident.
