Pakistan Out Of UK's High-Risk Country List: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto
Pakistan is no longer in the United Kingdom's list of 'high-risk third countries' following the country's exit from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list, revealed Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Monday night.

Sharing the news on Twitter late night on Monday, the foreign minister wrote, "Some good news. The United Kingdom has officially removed Pakistan from its list of ‘High Risk Third Countries’ following our early completion of FATF action plans."

The UK removed Pakistan from its 'high-risk third countries' list through a statutory instrument, and the accompanying notification suggested that the country has recognised Pakistan's efforts to improve money laundering and terror financing curbs.

Pakistan was cleared from the FATF in June, after the watchdog ‘unanimously cleared’ the country and acknowledged that it has met all 34 requirements. Pakistan was placed on the list in June 2018, for failing to keep money laundering and terrorist financing in check.

In late October, Pakistan was formally removed from the FATF increased monitoring list, commonly known as the grey list.
