Lollywood enfant terrible Meera believes she could have essayed Mahira Khan’s role in blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jatt better.
She made the comments while speaking to The Fame Pakistan. “Yes, I did watch the film. It was thoroughly entertaining. Fawad Khan’s character, I particularly liked. Mahira’s Punjabi accent was terrible!”
The diva added a rather awkward “sorry” post potshot. “I could have done a better job,” she said after.
The Legend of Maula Jatt, separately, is on a record-breaking spree at the box office worldwide since its release. The Bilal Lashari directorial had earlier emerged as the highest-grossing Punjabi film of all time worldwide. The film achieved the feat in the fourth week of its release. By raking in over 1,720 million (172 crores) The Legend of Maula Jatt has outshined all other Punjabi blockbusters including Carry on Jatta 2, Saunkan Saunkne and Chal Mera Putt 2.
The film had earlier broken into the coveted 1,500 million (150 crore) club. The makers of the film announced the same in a Tuesday post on the official Instagram handle of the film. “Taking the worldwide box office by storm, The Legend of Maula Jatt sets a new record for the Pakistani cinema with 150 Crore!

The Legend of Maula Jatt opened to rave reviews following its October 13 release. Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Humaima Malik headline the cast. It also stars Mahira Khan, Faris Shafi and Gohar Rasheed.
