Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) has expressed concern over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s ‘attempt to implicate senior journalists Hamid Mir, Murtaza Solangi and Waqar Satti in Wazirabad tragedy’.
In a statement on Monday, RIUJ said Imran Khan has not only tried to influence the journalists performing their duties but has also put their lives in danger, which is unacceptable to the journalist community.
“Journalist bodies will not allow any institution, political party or leader to control media or curb its freedoms”, the statement read.
