Ride-hailing behemoth Careem on Sunday tore into Indian food delivery company Zoomato’s caustic tweet on the hit-and-miss performance of the Pakistani cricket team at the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup underway in Australia after the team defied odds to storm into tournament semi-finals.
“Order placed for home delivery of pak team,” Zomato had tweeted on October 30 in a jibe at the team’s shaky start in the tournament. Pakistan delivered consecutive wins against both, South Africa and Bangladesh after having lost to India is a cliffhanger opener and Zimbabwe after. Pakistan’s berth in the semis was secured with the Netherlands emerging victorious in the clash against South Africa.
“Order declined 👊,” Careem Pakistan wrote while quoting Zomato’s aforementioned tweet in wake of the developments. Careem Pakistan’s biting response had garnered over 58,000 likes by the time this report was filed. It was retweeted over 9,900 times. The tweet had a little under 1,800 comments.
