Maharashtra authorities have ramped up Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s security in light of death threats.
The move has been taken after an internal assessment took note of threats to the actor, according to Mid-Day . Salman, accordingly, has been given Y+ security cover. This entails four armed men guarding the actor round-the-clock.
Salman had received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The gang is said to have killed trailblazing Punjabi artiste Sindhu Moose Wala in May, 2022. The actor was granted a arms license earlier.
Industry peer Akshay Kumar too has been extended X security cover. Three armed men will now guard Akshay across three shifts.
Salman Khan had earlier gone down with dengue. The superstar had put assignments on hold as he recovered. “Salman contracted dengue and is recovering well now,” Hindustan Times quoted his manager as having commented in a report carried on Saturday.
