Pakistan’s Leaders Offer Prayers And Condolences For Journalist Sadaf Naeem

Sadaf Naeem was a journalist working for Channel 5. She was covering the Long March when she slipped and fell under PTI’s container as they headed towards Kamoke from GT Road, Lahore.

The march immediately came to a stop. “Due to the tragic incident, we will stop the march immediately,” said PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan.

Khan sent his condolences to the family of the deceased and said that he would pray for the departed soul. All other political leaders also offered their condolences and prayers for Sadaf.

Shocked & deeply saddened by the terrible accident that led to the death of Channel 5 reporter Sadaf Naeem during our March today. I have no words to express my sorrow. My prayers & condolences go to the family at this tragic time. We have cancelled our March for today.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also offered his condolences:

رپورٹر صدف نعیم کی لانگ مارچ کنٹینر سے گرنے سے ہلاکت پر شدید دکھ ہے۔ اندوہناک واقعے پر جتنا افسوس کیاجائے، کم ہے۔ اہل خانہ سے دلی تعزیت کرتے ہیں۔ صدف نعیم ایک متحرک اور محنتی رپورٹر تھیں۔ مرحومہ کی مغفرت اہل خانہ کے لئے صبر جمیل کی دعا کرتے ہیں۔

Maryam Nawaz also recognised the tragedy and offered her thoughts:

I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of a precious life of a TV reporter Sadaf in the line of duty. My prayers for the bereaved family. May she rest in eternal peace. Ameen.

President Alvi also took to twitter to offer prayers for the deceased and her family:
