Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan will be jailed if he mounts his planned long march, The Friday Times editor Najam Sethi said on Friday.
Sethi made the comments in flagship Naya Daur TV show Khabar Say Aagay. The TFT editor said no judge would be then in a position to provide relief to him.
He said the ECP's Friday decision to disqualify Khan in the Toshakhana reference was just a warning shot. It should not be dwelled on too much. Khan too, Sethi said, was not taking it too seriously. If the PTI chairman did not display flexibility, he said, proceedings in the prohibited funds case will commence.
The TFT editor said a one party system could not be enshrined anywhere the world over without military support. He said Khan will soon realise that the military cannot support him in accordance with his desires.
Commenting on a revelation regarding how President Arif Alvi had met his 'favourite' general in Islamabad, Sethi said Khan had been made cognisant of how the military top brass was aghast at his antics and this will not be tolerated.
