A Pakistan International Airlines steward has gone ‘missing’ in Toronto, Canada.
“Ijaz Shah who operated as operating crew on PK-781 of October 14 went missing after the flight,” PIA Corporate Communications General Manager Abdullah Khan, told CTV News. Shah arrived in Toronto on Friday. Khan said he was official declared missing after failing to appear for a Sunday return flight he was slated to depart on. The Canada Border Services Agency, Khan said, had been made cognisant.
The national flag carrier had earlier rescinded a controversial memo regulating cabin crew attire received widespread flak. The circular had, the airline said, come out inappropriately worded. “Despite the fact that the spirit behind the advisory was to ensure proper dress code, however, the standard bulletin, inadvertently, came out with an inappropriate selection of words,” the national flag-carrier’s Human Resources Department said.
A Medina-bound Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight was delayed by 27 hours post a tyre snag.
The Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly was told separately in September that PK-713, scheduled to depart for Medina from Islamabad International Airport was delayed due to a torn tyre. Passengers were told to remain seated for two hours while the aircraft stood idle.
