Speaking at his program Capital Talk, anchorperson Hamid Mir highlighted Goldsmith’s tweet in response to Ali Nawaz’ post on the micro-blogging website.
Ali Nawaz had quoted the PTI chief’s former wife as saying, “Before divorce, I asked Imran Khan to leave Pakistan and get settled with me in London, my dad also offered him a settled running business in Europe, but he refused to leave Pakistan.”
However, Goldsmith responded, saying, “This is actually a fabricated quote – just FYI.”
Commenting on the development, Mir noted that Imran Khan’s former wife doesn’t usually make political comments but she was forced to do so to refute a claim made in her name.
