Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said on Monday that former finance minister Miftah Ismail had left the people encumbered with his policies.
Dar took the potshot at his predecessor in an interview with a private television channel. Dar said the latter should also not fret over matters pertaining to the IMF since he was now in charge.
Former finance minister Miftah Ismail had earlier termed the governmental decesion to not raise the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) this month without securing an IMF greenlight “reckless”.
2. You gave an unfounded, unsustainable subsidy on petrol. PTI nearly bankrupted us but when I took over and went to the IMF we saved Pakistan from default. Not increasing PDL this month without IMF approval is reckless, but what PTI did with our economy was unforgivable

It’s not good for the country for two people on the same side to talk through the media at each other. Just steer us all out safely but surely please.
