Slain Sarah Inam Laid To Rest In Islamabad
Journalist Ayaz Amir's slain daughter-in-law Sarah Inam was laid to rest at a local graveyard in Islamabad on Wednesday 28 September.

Canadian national Sarah was allegedly killed by her husband Shahnawaz at their home in Chak Shahzad located in the federal capital on Friday. Her body had been kept in the morgue of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital for the last six days.

The victims' parents arrived from Canada today and claimed the body for burial. Sarah's father Inam Rahim, while talking to reporters, appealed to courts to punish the accused as soon as possible.

He said that Sarah was her sweetest child. "A month ago my daughter was strolling with me. It was not in my wildest imagination that this could happen to her. We used to talk daily. She had been working in the UAE. She had done so well," he added.

It is pertinent to mention that a first information report (FIR) was earlier registered by the Islamabad police under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). Shahnawaz, who is currently under police custody, has confessed to the crime during preliminary investigations. However, an Islamabad court had discharged Ayaz from the murder case due to lack of evidence a day earlier.
