Man Burns Minor Son Alive Over Unsatisfactory Studies In Karachi
In a shocking incident, a father set fire to his 12-year-old son in Karachi's Orangi Town after the child failed to give a satisfactory answer about his studies, Geo News reported on Monday.

According to the report, Nazir Khan burnt his minor son, Shaheer, by pouring kerosene oil and throwing a matchstick on him, engulfing him in flames immediately, because the victim had not completed his school homework.

Shaheer was taken to Civil Hospital Karachi immediately. However, the child died after fighting for his life for 35 hours in the hospital.

Subsequently, the victim's mother, Shazia, filed a case against her husband and the police arrested the accused. The police also presented the accused before a judicial magistrate, who later sent back the accused to the police for physical remand till September 24.

According to the accused, he had lit the match only to scare the child after pouring kerosene on him, but the child accidentally caught on fire. Nazir says he took his son to the hospital immediately after he heard him screaming.

The police says the child had been asking his father to come fly a kite with him, at which Nazir had asked the child about his studies. When the child gave an unsatisfactory answer, he poured kerosene on him to scare the child.
