Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Thursday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan was “out to undermine Pakistan".
Quoting two stories carried by the The Economist, the prime minister said the British publication had "validated" what the government has been saying regarding PTI's handling of the economy.
The premier said that the publication has stated that Imran "blew up" Pakistan’s deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and he is "exploiting the disaster to score political points".
“Two news stories published in globally respected [The] Economist have validated what we have been saying about Imran Niazi. In its latest issue, the magazine wrote that Niazi "blew up" IMF deal & is "exploiting the disaster to score political points". He is out to undermine Pakistan,” Shehbaz wrote in the tweet.
