Disagreeing with the decision to ban Bol News journalist and vlogger Matiullah Jan has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan should be allowed to speak, because the more he speaks, the more he exposes himself.
Jan expressed the views in Naya Daur flagship show Khabbar Se Aagay.. He said that the decision to shut down Bol News and its sister channel Bol Entertainment was more political than legal, adding that the case for the renewal of its security license had been pending in the interior ministry since 2021.

"You should not be able to shut down a running media institution, where thousands of people work," he said, adding, "The government should not have the power to shut down any TV channel." He said he did not agree with the decision to shut the channel down, saying that the state should have let Imran Khan's interview continue to be aired, and should not have banned his live speeches. "The more a fool speaks, the more he exposes himself," he said.
Jan also said that the 'makers' of Imran Khan should apologize to the nation for the failure of their project, in an apparent reference to the establishment. He was also critical of 'judicial activism', saying, "A judge should not come to court after reading the morning paper and make remarks. They should be confined to their case."
The journalist agreed with Imran Khan's recent statement about the chief of army staff, and said that his statement was correct, as some generals are 'quarrelsome'. "We should not only criticize Imran Khan but also see that some army chiefs in the country were really strong and some were weak," he said.
Columnist Ejaz Haider said that the negative role of the army is responsible for the situation Pakistan is currently in, but pointed out that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif wasn't the only one benefitting from this, as Imran Khan had also been benefitting from this since 2018.
Analyst Muzamil Suhrawardy said that Imran Khan had reached the point where Altaf Hussain had also reached. "Altaf Hussain also used to say something every day, which the whole party had to explain the next day. Altaf crossed a red line after which the party left him. Imran Khan is also now crossing the same redline."
