As per the NDMA’s situation report, with data based on the flood impact till afternoon of September 1, 80 districts are notified to be calamity hit; 31 of these districts are in Balochistan, 23 in Sindh, 17 in KP, 6 in GB and 3 in Punjab.
More than 33 million Pakistanis remain affected by the catastrophic floods and heavy rains in the country.
Death and Injuries toll:
The death toll of Pakistan’s flood affectees has climbed to 1208 since June 14. The number of lives lost in Sindh is 432, in KP it is 268, in Balochistan 256 and 188 in Punjab. A total of 416 children have died in this catastrophe, 244 women and 526 men.
The number of injured in Punjab has risen to 3,266, and to 1110 in Sindh. Punjab has the highest number of injured women at 900, men at 1,925 and 441 children.
In 24 hours between the afternoon of August 31 and September 1, 12 deaths were reported in Sindh, four in KP and three women in Balochistan. Of the 12 dead in Sindh, eight are children, three women and one man.
These deaths occurred in Sanghar, Shaheed Benazir-Abad, Dadu, Naushehro Feroze and Tando Allah Yar. Of the 1243 injured reported from Punjab, 260 are children, 395 women and 588 men. The deaths in KP took place in Lower Dir, Chitral and South Waziristan.
Damages of Infrastructure and Private Properties:
As per the data collected between August 31 and September 1, the number of houses fully damaged in Sindh is recorded to be 62,156, of which 61,743 are fully damaged and 413 partially. This takes the total number of houses damaged in Sindh to 986,101.
In Balochistan the number of damaged houses is 61,718, in KP 76,700, and 46,320 in Punjab now. In GB 1227 houses are damaged and 483 in AJK.
Around 1,625 more livestock have been lost in Sindh, 43 in KP and 2 in Punjab. The total count of lost livestock is at 733,488 across Pakistan.
