Imran Khan To Address Power Show Tonight As ATC Extends Interim Bail Till Sept 12
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairperson Imran Khan is set to hold a rally in Sargodha just hours after the Islamabad Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) extended his interim bail in the terrorism case against him till September 12.

ATC Judge Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan heard the case today (Thursday) in Islamabad. The hearing commenced at 10 AM but was adjourned briefly when the Imran Khan was summoned to the court at 12 PM upon the judge's orders.

Upon resumption of the hearing, Khan's counsel Babar Awan pointed out that his client had shown up as per the courts directives, at which the judge mentioned the new charges added against Imran. The new charges added to the FIR against Imran include sections 186 (offence of obstructing public servant in the execution of public duty), 504 (criminal intimidation), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant).

The court then declared that all the new charges against Imran, except for terrorism, were bailable offences. The ATC judge then granted Imran an extension on his interim bail, which was previously valid only till September 1. The new bail expires on September 12, which is when the court will reconvene to listen to further arguments.

Previously on the night of August 21, a terrorism case had been registered against Khan in connection with a speech he had made at a rally the night before in which he threatened the Director General of Police as well as Additional Session Judge Zeba Chaudhry.

Separately, the PTI has announced that Khan will be holding a political rally in Sargodha tonight (Thursday). The rally will take place just hours after Khan was granted bail from the ATC.
