FATF team to visit Pakistan In September
In the first week of September, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is due to visit Pakistan. In 2018, it had placed Pakistan on the grey and now it plans to assess whether the country can be removed from the list or not.

Since then, Pakistan has implemented two action plans as a means of addressing the issues - money laundering and terror financing - that caused it to be placed on the grey list.

During the trip, the FATF team will assess the plans that have been put in place by the state, associated departments, regulators and legal agencies to verify whether the concerned issues have been dealt with appropriately.

This will also include examining the rules and regulations as well as institution effectiveness to ensure permanent resistance against money laundering and terror financing.
