Family Feud Rumours Misleading And Incorrect, Nawaz Says
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif has denied rumours of any rift between him and his brother Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

He termed such reports "misleading and incorrect".  In a tweet posted on Thursday, he said that any 'negative comments' attributed to him about his brother Shehbaz Sharif were "misleading and incorrect". He added that he remains hopeful that the "sincere and tireless" efforts made by Shehbaz will bring about some change acknowledging that the current circumstances are "most challenging".

He also blamed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairperson Imran Khan for leaving behind a "mess" saying "I remain hopeful that the sincere and tireless efforts by SS under the most challenging circumstances will bear fruit and he will steer the country out of the mess created by Imran Khan."

While he did not specify what "negative comments" he was referring to, his clarification comes as people are speculating internal rifts within the ranks of the PML-N. The rift was first highlighted in May when PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz had, a day after the coalition government's announcement of completing its term, endorsed a call for fresh elections.

It has been speculated that Nawaz was extremely unhappy with the PML-N's loss of the 20 Punjab Assembly seats following the Punjab by-elections in July. Furthermore, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has recently been coming under fire not from opposition party PTI but from members of the PML-N. Most notably, Maryam had said on Twitter that Nawaz had opposed the recent petrol price hike in August.
