An Islamabad court on Thursday approved the pre-arrest bail of former prime minister Imran Khan in a terrorism case registered against him for threatening Additional District and Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry during an August 20 rally held in in the federal capital.

The court accepted Imran’s bail petition against a surety of Rs100,000 till September 1. Later, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief also secured protective bail till September 7 in a case registered against him on charges of violating Section 144 in Islamabad on the day of the rally. The bail was granted against a surety of Rs5,000.

“Listen Inspector General (of police), we are not going to let you go, we are going to file a case against you. And madam magistrate you should also get ready, we will take action against you,” Khan had thundered during his speech at the rally. Imran had filed a pre-arrest bail at the Islamabad High Court on Monday to avoid being arrested in the anti-terrorism case.
