Hyderabad Minority Leaders Slam India For Politicising Quran Desecration
Hyderabad minority leaders on Tuesday slammed India for attempting to portray Pakistan in a negative light after a mob stoked unrest in the city over the alleged desecration of the Holy Quran on Sunday.

Speaking to journalists, minority leaders strongly condemned the incident and urged the government to restore peace in the city. They criticised the Indian government for using the incident to portray a poor picture of Pakistan.

On Sunday, Hyderabad police dispersed a mob that tried to break into the residence of a Hindu sanitary worker in Saddar area. The worker had been accused of blasphemy.

According to the police, the sanitary worker had been targeted because of a personal clash with a local resident. The Hindu worker was arrested and booked under section 295B over charges of blasphemy for allegedly desecrating the Holy Quran. The allegations were made by local shopkeeper Bilal Abbasi who complained Kumar had allegedly desecrated the Holy Quran.
