Pakistan Army To Ensure FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Security
The federal cabinet has approved an agreement between the Qatar government and the Pakistani Army on the military providing security for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The Qatar government had sought assistance from the army on security provisions for the mega sporting event. Qatar will be hosting the 22nd iteration of the FIFA World Cup football championship slated to take place from November 20 to December 18.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be embarking on his maiden trip to Qatar from August 23 to August 24. The visit comes on the invitation of Qatar Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The prime minister will be accompanied by a delegation of federal cabinet members. During the visit, the two leaders will discuss all aspects of bilateral relations with a special focus on matters of energy-related cooperation, strengthening trade and commerce ties as well as expanding employment opportunities for Pakistanis in Qatar.

Shahbaz Sharif will also be meeting with Qatari and Pakistani businessmen and investors based in Doha. He was also be given an overview and briefing of the security arrangements made at Stadium 974 —which he will visit— in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
