Former Chairman Of NAB Received Rs 74m In Pay Over Four Years
In a report by Geo https://www.geo.tv/latest/434203-javed-iqbal-received-rs74m-in-pay-over-four-years it has emerged that the former Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was the recipient of  Rs74 million in pay and allowances during his term which was for almost four and a half years, from October 2017 to June 2022.

The report breaks down the money as such:

  • A monthly salary of Rs 1,239,000 per month

  • Rs 6,000 as telephone allowance per month

  • Rs 68,000 as house rent per month

  • Over a period of 4 years this adds upto Rs74,504,985


Iqbal was also the recipient of other benefits after his retirement from the Supreme Court on July 24th 2011. Upon retirement a judge is entitled to 70-85% of their salary as per the president's decision.

  • If the judge passes away the widow of the judge is entitled to:

  • The services of a driver and an orderly

  • 300 free local telephone calls per month

  • 2,000 units of electricity

  • Free supply of water

  • 25 cubic hectometers of gas per month

  • 300 liters of petrol

  • A security guard provided by the police
