A student at Azad Kashmir’s Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) who was accused of blasphemy against the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is being held in police custody after a mob of students showed up outside his dorm room.
Later that night, a mob of students showed up outside his room to seek him out, and gathered outside waiting for him to show up.

Eventually police authorities showed up at the scene, however the mob of students were not letting them enter the student’s hostel room.

According to sources, the police was eventually successful in entering and detaining the student, who is currently safe in police custody.
The president of the Collective of Progressive Students Qaiser Javed said that the police should properly investigate the matter before filing an FIR.
The accused person is in safe custody of police. Police should properly investigate the case before filing an FIR.

PSC spokesperson Maqdis Jaral reacted to the incident and said that the nation still has not learnt anything from the Mashal Khan incident. “The university administration should immediately take the student to a safe place and disperse the crowd.”
