General Faiz Named Bahawalpur Corps Commander In Military Reshuffle
Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed has been posted as Commander Bahawalpur Corps, the ISPR announced on Monday.

The ISPR statement goes on to detail transfers and postings of top military men.

Lieutenant General Sardar Hassan Azhar Hayat has been transferred to Peshawar Corps as its new commanding officer in the major military reshuffle. Lieutenant General Khalid Zia has been named the new military secretary.

Earlier, former ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor was appointed corps commander Quetta.

Last week, a Pakistan Army helicopter had crashed near Musa Goth in the Lasbela district of Balochistan. All the six officers on board including Commander XII Corps Lieutenant General Sarfaraz Ali had embraced shahadat (martyrdom).

“The wreckage of unfortunate hel[icopter] which was on flood relief op[erations] found in Musa Goth, Windar, Lasbela. All six officers and soldiers including Lt Gen Sarfaraz Ali embraced shahadat [martyrdom],” the ISPR had said in a tweet.

Lt Gen Sarfaraz Ali, Brigadier Amjad Hanif, Brigadier Muhammad Khalid, Major Saeed Ahmed, Major M Talha Manan and Naik Mudassar Fayyaz were among the martyred.
