Mohsin Dawar Elected Chairperson Of National Assembly Standing Committee On Foreign Affairs
Mohsin Dawar has been elected as chairperson of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, according to a report.

Journalist Atta Ur Rehman shared the development on his Twitter handle.

In a tweet, Rehman shared a picture of Dawar and said: “MNA Mohsin Dawar [has been] elected Chairman [of] National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs.”

Dawar is an independent MNA from the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). He has been a member of the National Assembly since August, 2018.  He is also the chairperson of the National Democratic Movement (NDM), besides being the co-founder of a human rights movement – Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM).

Earlier this month, Dawar had urged National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf to issue the production order of incarcerated lawmaker Ali Wazir so that the latter could represent his constituency during the next session of the House.

In a tweet, Dawar had said that he has submitted an application to the NA speaker for the production order of Ali.

“[I] have submitted an application to the speaker [of] National Assembly for the production order of Ali Wazir for the upcoming session of the NA ….. Ali needs to be allowed to represent his constituency,” he had said.
