Sindh High Court Wraps Up Petition Against Aamir Liaquat's Autopsy
The Sindh High Court (SHC) has disposed of the petition, challenging the orders of exhumation of politician Aamir Liaquat Hussain's remains for an autopsy, in light of consensus reached among all parties in the case.

Earlier, Amir's children, Ahmed Aamir and Dua Aamir, had filed a petition in the SHC against the exhumation orders passed by a judicial magistrate and sought its nullification. The SHC, however, had suspended the orders and sought arguments from the parties.

During today's hearing, Justice Iqbal Kalhoro said that the petitioners should approach a sessions court against the orders of the judicial magistrate and a high court cannot be approached in this case directly.

The police apprised the court that an additional police surgeon had performed an external examination of Amir’s body on June 10 and declared that no judgement about the cause of death can be made on the basis of external examination.

Later, the court disposed of the plea after the parties in the case reached a consensus.

On June 9, Amir was found unconscious at his home in Khudadad Colony in Karachi and was shifted to a private hospital in critical condition. However, doctors said he had already passed away by the time he reached the hospital.
