Imran Khan Says Only Early Election Can End Political Crisis
Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan has said that only early election under a new election commissioner can end the political crisis in the country.

In his address to the nation, Imran said that there is only one way for Pakistan to come out of the prevailing political situation and that is to ensure fresh general elections in the country.

He said that the current situation is difficult, adding that “the longer this coalition government stays in power, the more it will get difficult for the people [to survive].”

“It is better to die than be a slave as society suffers when thieves are in power,” he emphasised.

The former premier said all-out efforts were employed to defeat the PTI in the Punjab by-elections. “Hamza [Shahbaz] was illegally imposed on us and even when he was ordered by the top court to refrain from using any state machinery and administration for personal gains, he misused his powers to rig the elections. The election commission also tried to defeat us by helping PML-N during the by-polls,” he said.

He added that the way his party emerged successful despite all “tactics” by the ruling PML-N was a miracle.
