MQM Leader Babar Ghauri Arrested From Airport Upon Return To Pakistan
Former minister of ports and shipping and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Babar Khan Ghauri has been arrested from Karachi's Jinnah International Airport.

Earlier, an accountability court had declared Babar Ghauri a proclaimed offender in a case pertaining to illegal jobs’ regularisation in the Karachi Port Trust (KPT).

The former federal minister was taken into custody as soon as he landed at the Karachi airport at 10pm. The police said that they arrested the former minister due to corruption and terrorism cases registered against him.

According to reports, cases are registered against Babar Ghauri in Karachi Central and West. He was detained at a police station in Malir district, from where he will be presented in a court tomorrow.

The investigation departments of different districts of Karachi were directed to bring the details of the cases against him.

Babar was residing in Dubai for the past month and had bought air tickets to return to Pakistan a week ago, however, his visit was abruptly postponed.
