Police Arrest Two Men In Swat For Harassing Tourist Couple
Two men from Swat were arrested by the Kalam police over charges of harassing a tourist family in the Usho Valley, Swat.

According to the police, the family hailed from Lahore, and had rented a tent near the Mahodand Lake in Usho Valley region of Swat, which is where they were harassed at night by two men.

Additional superintendent of police Arshad Khan told media persons on Friday that two men, the owner and the operator of a rental tent were arrested by the Kalam police on the complaint of a tourist. The tourist had sent the complaint to the Malakand commission through email.

In the email, the tourist had complained that he had been in a tent with his wife near Mahodand Lake, when a man barged inside on the night between June 18 and 19 and tried to harass his wife, and also injured him in the process.

Following this, the injured tourist was shifted to a hospital in Kalam where he underwent medical treatment according to additional SP Arshad Khan.

“While in hospital, the tourist did not lodge any complaint or file a report with the police and went back to Lahore in the morning,” the police officer said. He added that the FIR was registered after the Swat police received an email forwarded by the commissioner, following which the Kalam police arrested 45 suspects and shared their photos with the complainant.

The complainant then identified Habib-ur-Rehman aka Affan, a resident of Usho valley, as the offender. Additional SP Arshad Khan said that during interrogation, the man also confessed to the crime.

The additional SP said later the police also arrested the tent owner, Khanzada alias Khanji, also a resident of Usho.
