MNA Ali Wazir Says Faced Two Assassination Attempts After Release, Demands To Be Sent Back To Jail
Incarcerated MNA Ali Wazir, who was shifted to a hospital in Karachi after the issuance of his production orders, has said that he was attacked twice following his release. He demanded to be sent back to jail as it was safer, saying that the authorities are not letting him attend the National Assembly session.

Ali Wazir was shifted to to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) on Tuesday for a 'routine check up', and had medical tests on Wednesday.

The National Assembly Speaker had on Wednesday issued production orders for his release, so he could join the ongoing budget sessions at Parliament, as he is a member of the treasury board.

After the issuance of the order, NA additional secretary Muhammad Mushtaq sent the production order to prison authorities asking them to produce MNA Wazir ‘at the commencement of each sitting of the National Assembly’.

However on Wednesday night, Ali Wazir revealed that there had been two attacks on him while he was at the hospital and demanded that he be sent back to jail as he was unsafe and unprotected at the hospital.

He further said that now that his production orders had been issued, if the authorities did not want to send him to jail, then they should let him attend the budget session being held at Parliament, in accordance with the order.

Wazir said that the budget session only takes place once, during which every MNA gets to bring up the issues within their constituencies, adding that he was being deliberately prevented from attending the budget sessions twice now.

He clarified that he was not bringing forward any unconstitutional demands, and was merely asking for the production orders to be implemented, or in light of the two attacks on him, to be sent back to jail.
