PM Shehbaz Forms Task Force To Implement Minority Rights
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the formation of a task force to oversee the implementation of minority rights after the National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution in this regard.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office on June 15, the composition of the task force, which contains 23 members, has been approved by the Apex court.

The statement reads, "In light of the resolution passed by the National Assembly on May 9, 2022, the prime minister has been pleased to approve the constitution of task force on minorities to oversee the implementation of rights of minorities in light with the decision of the Apex court."

It further continued, "The task force shall monitor and oversee all the affairs of the protection of rights of minorities in the light of decisions taken by the Apex court."

The task force consists of 23 members, including MNAs and senators, and is headed by MNA Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, who is also the patron-in-chief of the Pakistan Hindu Council.

The chairman of the task force will serve as a federal minister, while the rest of the committee will play an advisory role. The committee will be required to submit quarterly reports on its progress to the prime minister.

The statement further instructed all provincial governments and administrations to assist and aid the task force in the completion of its goals and duties.

Following the announcement, the committee Chairperson Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani took to Twitter saying that as the chairperson of the task force, he would like to remove the feelings of insecurity that minorities face.

He also vowed to challenge the anti-Pakistan propaganda regarding minorities.
