Benazir’s Daughter Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari Says Won’t Forgive Musharraf
Former prime minister Benazir Bhutto's daughter Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari has said that there is no bravery in forgiving a former military dictator, adding that she will not forgive Pervez Musharraf, given his ‘direct involvement’ in the assassination of her mother.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said during a session of the Parliament on Wednesday, that he had no issues with the former dictator being allowed to return to Pakistan.

"I had forgiven him when he was still in Pakistan. If Pervez Musharraf wants to come back, he can. Pakistan is his home," Gilani said, adding however, that he thinks everyone should be treated equally.

Gilani's daughter Fiza Batool had tweeted a video of her father's remarks during the Assembly session, saying that forgiveness was a virtue of the brave, and forgiving someone takes away their power.

Bakhtawar Bhutto retweeted and criticized her 'insensitive tweet', saying that there was no bravery in this regard, and that it was not Gilani's place to forgive.

"Perhaps this is what your family feel but as the daughter of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto - it certainly isn’t what I feel - especially given his direct involvement (with no remorse) in my mother’s assassination," she said.

Her comment came after news broke that former president Pervez Musharraf was critically ill and wished to return to Pakistan, after which various political leaders including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that he should be allowed to return home respectfully.
