Jemima Khan's New Film Starring Sajal Aly To Be Released Next Year
England based screenwriter and producer Jemima Khan's latest venture, 'What's Love Got To Do With It?', a film she wrote and produced herself, is set to be released in January next year. The film stars Pakistani actress Sajal Aly.

This will be Jemima Khan's first foray into writing a feature film. The movie is set in London and Lahore.

The film stars Lily James, Shazad Latif, Emma Thompson, Shabana Azmi, Aly, Mim Shaikh and Asim Chaudhry, and has been directed by Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapur. It also features two songs by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Described as a cross-cultural romantic-comedy, the story follows protagonist Zoe (James) as she films a documentary about her friend Kazim’s (Latif) arranged marriage journey. According to the Daily Mail, Khan was inspired by her own marriage to the former prime minister Imran Khan, and the film is supposedly her take on that.

The first look for the film was revealed by Studiocanal and Working Title in December last year, and it spotlighted Shazad Latif and Lily James. Latif was seen in a traditional kurta with embroidery.

Other film stills released so far feature a lot of desi wedding imagery, however, there are no official stills including Sajal Aly out yet.

Earlier last year, both Jemima and Sajal shared photos from set, where they both had taken selfies together.

The film is being released under the banner of Jemima's production company, Instinct Production.
