Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Syed Ali Zafar has expressed disagreement with his party’s decision to submit evidence of government’s alleged harassment during their long march last week to the United Nations (UN), saying that it was the country’s ‘internal matter’.

The barrister said in a tweet today (Thursday) that the ‘political motivated harassment’ of the opposition by the Government is an internal matter of Pakistan, and therefore, is to be resolved politically and by our own courts.

He said he does not agree that Pakistan’s internal issues should be taken to the UN, adding that the UN wouldn’t have the legal authority to resolve the issue anyway.

In any case, the UN does not have any legal authority to resolve this internal matter.2/2

Previously on Tuesday, PTI Vice President Fawad Chaudhry had said during a press conference that the PTI is collecting video evidence of ‘torture’ against PTI workers during their long march on May 25.

He said that video evidence of male police personnel raiding houses of PTI leaders at ungodly hours and then ‘misbehaving’ with the women was also being collected.

“We are gathering footage of the incidents and will raise it on international forums. Such brutality was not witnessed even during the regimes of dictators,” the PTI leader said.

A day before this statement by Fawad, PTI Chairperson Imran Khan had admitted that the protestors at the long march were in possession of weapons, and that he was certain there would be firing.

He went on to say that he decided to call off the march fearing violence, as the arrests of PTI workers and leaders had caused widespread anger among the protestors.

SAZ is too sane to be in PTI. He will be trolled by his own party and will be sidelined.
