Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned the broadcast of ‘controversial content’ of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan’s recent interview wherein he had talked about dismemberment of Pakistan.

The electronic media watchdog has asked all news channels to refrain from broadcasting the part of the interview where Imran Khan issued the controversial remarks.

According to PEMRA, the content violates Article 19, and undermines the national security and sovereignty of the country. In its statement, the Authority further said that the former prime minister’s statement may give rise to hared among the public and also poses a threat to the country’s law and order.
