Condemning ousted prime minister Imran Khan’s statement that the country may split into three pieces if establishment doesn’t take the ‘right decisions’, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has warned him to refrain from ‘crossing limits’.
While giving an interview to a local television channel on Wednesday, Imran Khan had asserted that if the establishment doesn’t make the right decisions, the country will go bankrupt, which will end up destroying the army.
He claimed that since the country was headed towards a default, the military was going to be hit the worst when that happened. “After it is hit, what concession will be taken from us? Denuclearization,” he said.
Khan reiterated the need for the establishment to make the ‘right decisions’, otherwise the country will break into three pieces. “Indian think tanks abroad are mulling to separate Balochistan, they have plans, this is why I am putting pressure,” said Khan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is currently in Turkey on a three-day official visit, condemned the remarks made by Khan, saying on Twitter that the latter was making ‘naked threats’ against the country.
While I am in Turkey inking agreements, Imran Niazi is making naked threats against the country. If at all any proof was needed that Niazi is unfit for public office, his latest interview suffices. Do your politics but don't dare to cross limits & talk about division of Pakistan.

Other prominent political leaders have also expressed condemnation over the statements given by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairperson.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chair Asif Ali Zardari said during a press conference that the language being used by Imran was akin to language used by Indian Prime Minister Modi, as no Pakistani could think of tearing Pakistan apart.
“The desire to tear Pakistan into pieces can not be fulfilled until we and our decedents are alive, Pakistan will exist till the day of judgement,” Asif Zardari said.
PPP General Secretary Nayyar Bukhari took to Twitter to condemn Imran’s remarks and said that the nation will make an example out of Khan.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Dr. Syed Asif Kirmani also criticized the reckless statement and urged the Supreme Court to take note of Khan’s ‘anti-Pakistan statements’.

Pakistan Democratic Movement Spokesperson Hafiz Hamdullah said that in his lust for power, Khan had talked about breaking up the country and the army, saying that undoubtedly his politics would end.

All hopes for economic revival are dashed. There is no talk of tightening belts, no tough decisions. Citizen is not taken in confidence. Chaos reigns on every front. Deja Vu all over again! While petrol went up by 30 Rs when it should have been more than 60; cooking oil prices are increased by 200 Rs! IMF can not be fooled by the steps PDM is taking to bring economy under control. PM Shareef is under Chinese pressure to revive CPEC is making rounds in Turkey (some body should tell
Him status of Turkish Lira) while Erdogan appears reluctant to to “help”. Pakistani citizen is smart, should know by now the spineless amoral PDM government will keep on sucking their blood to the last drop.
I don’t understand what he said was meant as that he realised the consequences of his campaign and pulled back in the wider interest of Pakistan or it was meant as a threat.
All nationalists should give IK space for reflection that he so desperately needs to continue to be of any use to our bright future. A large number of youthias and many adult “youtias” like IK who are gullible and did not understand the civilian relationship with Pakistan’s centre of gravity; that is currently shifting its polarity are being educated now what our generations have known for decades.
