Pakistan Sends Second Round Of Humanitarian Aid To Ukraine
At the request of Ukraine, Pakistan has sent a second round of humanitarian aid to the country as it deals with the aftermath of its invasion by Russia.

According to state-operated Radio Pakistan, a special C-130 plane delivered more than 7.5 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, with a second plane scheduled to deliver an additional 7.5 tonnes on Friday.

The humanitarian assistance package included emergency medicines, electro-medical equipment, winter bedding and food items.

The report said, "Pakistan has always acted promptly alongside international community for responding to international calls for assistance during conflicts and calamities as a responsible and peace loving nation."

Previously, the first consignment of relief packages was sent in March. The first dispatch of more than 15 tonnes was also sent through two special C-130 planes from the Pakistan Air Force's Nur Khan Base in Rawalpindi.

The government had also decided to allocate around Rs 60 million to deliver relief good to Poland, which is where most of the Ukrainian refugees had sought asylum.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) had also strongly suggested that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) should mobilise the required assistance containing non-military items, as requested by the Ukrainian embassy and organise its transportation.

The Russo-Ukrainian War had already commenced in 2014, but on 24 February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, which steeply escalated the pre-existing situation. An estimated 1.5 million refugees, mostly women and children, have moved to Poland and other neighbouring countries.
