Rana Sanaullah Expresses Desire To Arrest Imran As PTI Gears Up For Long March
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has asked the nation to 'pray' that government gets approval to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairperson Imran Khan, as the government reviews its options to contain the party's long march to Islamabad on May 25. The authorities are so far undecided over whether Imran Khan should be allowed to enter the federal capital.

According to details, heavy contingents of police have been called in from all provinces, including police, FC and Rangers personnel.

The police will be equipped with prisoner vans, water guns and other weapons meant to keep law and order in check. Federal police and administration have been instructed to deal with the participants of the march severely.

The government has also decided to seal Islamabad's red zone with containers, which had already been propped up in Islamabad's D-chowk as well.

It may be recalled that Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah had said that the decision of Imran Khan's entry into Islamabad during the long march would be discussed amongst the heads of the coalition government, and action would be taken accordingly.

Speaking to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers in Bahawalpur yesterday (Sunday), he said that in his personal opinion, Imran Khan should not be permitted to enter Islamabad, however such a decision could only be taken with the rest of the coalition government in agreement.

He said that a strategy would be formulated as per the decision of the coalition government, and if they decided to let people come to Islamabad for the march, they would make sure that the lives and property of the people of Islamabad are safeguarded.

However if the decision is to not allow them entry, then it would be ensured that people aren't allowed to leave their houses.

On Sunday, PTI chairperson Imran Khan announced that his long march to Islamabad for 'true freedom' would begin on May 25th, and encouraged people from all walks of life to join him.
