Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shireen Mazari has reportedly been arrested by Islamabad police. According to PTI leaders, she was “picked up” from her home.

The former minister’s daughter Imaan Mazari tweeted that her mother was beaten by male police officers who then ‘took her away’.

Male police officers have beaten and taken my mother away. All I have been told is that Anti Corruption Wing Lahore has taken her.

— Imaan Zainab Mazari-Hazir (@ImaanZHazir) May 21, 2022

Earlier, Former SAPM and PTI leader Iftikhar Durrani tweeted about the development and called on PTI supporters to reach the Kohsar Police Station in Islamabad.

The footage from her arrest has surfaced which shows female police officers arresting Shireen Mazari. She is also seen putting up a resistance and abusing a police official for apparently trying to confiscate her mobile phone.
Meanwhile, the PTI leadership has announced country wide protests against Mazari’s arrest.
