Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Azhar Siddique was admonished for his ‘anti-judiciary’ vlogs by a Lahore High Court (LHC) bench on Thursday, which objected to the aspersions being cast on the credibility of the judiciary.

The bench was headed by Justice Sadaqat Khan, and also included Justice Shahid Jamil Khan, Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry, Justice Sajid Mahmood Sethi and Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh.

Justice Sadaqat Khan warned Siddique against his vlogging where he had been speaking out against the courts and the judiciary, and said “Enough is enough. Personal attacks on the judges would not be tolerated anymore.”

He stated that if any lawyer was found engaging in criticism of the judges and the courts, or spreading propaganda against the judiciary, their practicing license would be suspended.

“It is better for you to quit vlogging as it does not suit a lawyer,” Justice Sadaqat Khan berated Siddique.

The judges also ordered the LHC registrar to pay close attention to social media content and take action against the offenders.

Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Ahmed Awais was also present during the hearing.

Justice Shahid Jamil Khan instructed the AGP to pass the message on to all the concerned parties regarding maintaining the respect and sanctum of the judiciary and the courts, because disrespect and malicious attacks will not be tolerated anymore.

Azhar Siddique was in court representing PTI regarding two cases pertaining to the oath taking of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The court ultimately adjourned the session till May 17, and a notice was sent to Hamza Shehbaz whose representative had failed to show up to court to attend the hearing.
