Material For My Character Assassination Being Prepared By Govt: Imran Khan
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairperson and former prime minister Imran Khan claimed on Wednesday that material for a 'character assassination' of him was being prepared by the incumbent Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz (PML-N) government.

His remarks came during an Eid special on Hum News, hosted by actor Shaan Shahid, who interviewed the former prime minister on all matters politics.

Khan claimed that the ruling coalition of PML-N and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) were engaging in fifth generation warfare and were creating 'deepfakes' of him that they would soon begin circulating. He alleged that PML-N and PPP had hired companies to create the 'fake videos' of him.

Just a day before, PTI's social media accounts began to post about the dangers of deepfakes, warning that PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, who the post claimed had been involved in 'fake receipts, trust deeds and letters' had allegedly commissioned the deepfakes of several important political figures.

Khan said he had had to face many mafias, the biggest of which was the 'Sharif mafia', who he claimed had been indulging in corruption for the past 35 years. "When someone points out their corruption, they attack a person's character," he said.

He claimed the Sharif 'mafia' was doctoring tapes similar to the ones they made of former chief justice Saqib Nisar, and late judge Arshad Malik, saying that this was 'mafia style'. "I only want the nation to understand that if you want to smear anyone's name, there are companies that can help you to achieve this," Khan said.

The ousted prime minister said that his ex-wife, Jemima Goldsmith was also targeted, and they claimed that she was a part of the 'Jewish lobby', saying that her only crime was that she had been his wife. "Now they have Farah Khan, whose only crime is that she is a close associate of Bushra begum."

He claimed that now that Eid was over, the ruling coalition's preparations were in full swing, as they wanted to discredit and disrespect him ahead of his long march to Islamabad at the end of May.
