SHO Suspended For Posting 'Derogatory' Comments About Maryam Nawaz On Social Media
A Chichawatni Saddar SHO was suspended on Tuesday over his derogatory comments about Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif on social media.

DPO Sahiwal, Sadiq Baloch, has appointed an inquiry officer to look into the matter and submit a report within three weeks, adding that as a member of a disciplined force, the SHO's comments were inappropriate and unwarranted.

SHO A.D Shaheen posted a series of abusive and insulting comments against Maryam Nawaz, to his Facebook account on Monday. Certain PML-N leaders local to Sahiwal criticised the SHO for his comments, questioning how a serving police officer could disparage such language against a parliamentarian of a political party in power.

The DPO took notice, and subsequently suspended SHO Shaheen, citing the Government Servants Efficiency and Discipline Rules 1973. Shaheen was asked to report to Police Lines, Sahiwal immediately.

According to the official suspension order, the SHO was dismissed "on account of his inefficiency, irresponsible and negligent attitude in the discharge of official duties."
